Why Do You Care?
“Yeah, okay. I do have an African American boyfriend. Yes, my boyfriend is black. Okay, I am in love with someone who’s not white. My parents HATE it. Everyone in my family hates it. But do I care? Nope. I’m in love with him. I have been with him for 8 months now, and it’s been the best 8 months of my entire life. I’m crazy about him. I’m head-over-heels. But nobody will accept it. I don’t know why it’s so terrible and horrible to love someone that’s not ‘the same’ as you. I have the same outlook on Gay and Lesbian couples. Why does it matter who you love? If you love somebody, you’re in love. I’m in love with someone. So I have one question… Why the fuck do you care?”
